Pros & Cons

Pros

Orion 90mm mak-cass is a fantastic portable spotting scope. The mak-cas design allows you to get a much longer focal length that you would with a normal reflector.

Overall it's still very usable. One or two caveats to be aware of, though. My only comment on the included tabletop base is that while it's nicely constructed, i don't use it.

Viewing the moon is like looking out a window of a ship orbiting it. There is no false color, and the lunar features have impressive detail. With the 10mm individual craters can be picked apart.

This one comes with a 25mm (50x magnification) and 10mm (125x magnification). The supplied eyepieces seem to be of good quality. The lowest magnification eyepiece that comes with the scope (25mm) gives a magnification of 50x.

Ez finder ii makes it extremely ez (ha ha) to find objects. The hardest thing you have to do is aligning the finder.

Cons

Also the dovetail bar was mounted upside down on this unit as well.
