Pros

I like the way it spins down when not in use. Currently i have only 3 drives in it stays around 40°c for each drive.

The dock has a built-in power supply, so a standard power cord is used instead of a blocky, external adapter. It works with aiec 60130-10 barrel connector 5.

The orico device (9548ru3) is very well built and is aesthetically appealing. The aluminum construction has a great anodized finish to it. The polycarbonate housing is crystal clear, has vented ribs in a ring around the bottom of the housing.

Packaging/appearance

By turning either the switch on the orico or a switch on the usb hub you can shut off the drive when you do not need to access it

Competitiveness

I have purchased several orico enclosures over the years and particularly like the mountingfree installation of hard drives

It has its little quirks to it but saving close to 100 compared to competitive devices is a decent trade off in my opinion

Two 14tb drives in raid 1 two 8tb drives in raid 1 and a 5tb that just has bs dumped onto it that i dont care to sort

Its not the most secure thing in the world
