    Bought two cheaper, similar units that wouldn't decode the dolby and just output noise.

    The tv has an optical requirement and the older unit only had the rca red and white connection.

    Works fine but to get any volume out of the headphone jack output on the product you have to run a cable out of the da34 headphone output into a tuner that has a video input on the back of the unit so that you can select video output source on the front of the system to get sound into your headphones because you are receiving a tv signal input.
