Pros & Cons
Pros
The projector performs as they say it should. The real winning trait is the repairability. In most cases, however, the function performs admirably. No problems at all.
The device is awesome.
High contrast ratio produces excellent shadows and *. Color clarity is exceptional. Lumen output is fine for most cases when enough ambient light can be blocked. It is still bright and entirely watchable.
The move up to 720p is a great upgrade, more than double the pixels of 480p. Up to 120 hz, which is twice faster than hd p(24 fps/60 fps). I've enjoying using this and went about little over 25 ft from bottom left to top right is 25 ft widescreen size... Read More
Highlights
Quality
You can save 100s probably even more with this unit and still be happy with the quality
It was nice the quality was better than what i would see on my 30 tv
I really did nothing in the way of adjustment except focus the unit and zoom it in until my 92 screen was filled with the image
I concur with the limitations mentioned by others lens cap is practically useless and the way the picture is angled upward from... Read More
Price
Price was right and the style seemed to blend right into my room
Not complaining too much because it only cost 26 to ship you have to insure it when you ship it
Bluraydvd is at best comparable to dvd on hddvdcertainly not better
Shipping
So 600 with rebate isnt a bad deal and amazon had free shipping on top of that
I got it for 999 no tax and free shipping from
Costco had this model on sale with a free screen but with shipping it wouldve cost more
The price also dropped that month to 860 bringing my total after rebates and shipping to 660 which is the same as 2732 inch flat screens
Packaging/appearance
The image is sharp colors are bright and its ready to use straight out of the box
I bought a samsung upscaling dvd player and i must say i dont think it is any better then the upscaling built into the hd70
The keystone correction is necessary because you wont always be able to project the picture straight onto the screen
My son thought i was crazy for buying this large of a screen but he could not believe how clear the picture was displaying on the screen
Competitiveness
I have owned an optoma ep 719 xga projector for about a year and find it an impressive unit for the price
I first used this with a phillips upconvert dvd player
Over an 8ft distance i have a n image size of about 8ft wide
Before i ordered the hd70 i was considering the less expensive optoma h31
