From the side where the usb cable is connected to the case there is a led blue state which in addition to let you know that hard drive is on flashing if there are ongoing data transfers

I dont know if this is due to the hd or the usb cable but file transfers drop to 0 after a few minutes

I saw similar and cheaper products but opted for this one because it was fulfilled by amazon which meant more reliable quality and easy return in case it didnt work
