If you want no muss no fuss, it's better to go with stainless steel. But you will be sacrificing performance and will be sharpening constantly. Its hight carbon steel.

Cons

The people at ontario knife needs to look at their qc procedures, if they have one at all. All 5 knives are very dull and not usable! Sadly to say, the quality isn’t what it was over 40 years ago!

All the blades were rusted. The shaft inside between wood handle is super rusty. The blades scratches up very easy and badly when sharping.

The small paring knife has a spot, about one inch in length, in the center of the blade where there is no bevel. The larger paring knife also has a very uneven bevel. If this is the quality of okc i am fairly disappointed for an american blade.
