Pros

One of the receiver's strengths is the dual-zone feature. Using this, the receiver calculates the required speaker levels. Audyssey speaker calibration with microphone.

The onkyo 674 can decode dolby digital and dts without needing an optical cable hooked up. It works great with the ps3, and passing 1080p video through it works with no problem. For more information on hdtv click here.

Brushed aluminium finish. Unheard of at this price point. Looks expensive, classy & original. Great replacement for my old staple.

Easy to set up with auto configure. Easy to use once you have everything setup. Plenty of connections and the remote controls everything.

It works wonderfully, and i got it for a * price. Really shocked. Could not be happier.

Cons

Too few component inputs. Could use more coaxial digital audio inputs. Totally unacceptable.

Quality

Love this product but it has taken me weeks to get to where im comfortable with the setup

I have found that i have no problem with the volume issue i had with the sony

I used to have hts790 it also has good sound quality but it doesnt have 4 audiovideo input and the speakers were ugly

Not a big deal but it messes with the sound a little when it does this

If cost is no object then onkyos sister concern integra wd still be a better choice than most mass market wannabe brands out there

Packaging/appearance

It has the robustness of the txsr604 the bells whistles of the txsr608

I dont have any weird noises and think that it is nearly silent when just in the 34on34 position

Amazon has a great price on a nonrefurbished model

A really impressive feature no longer offered in the newer onkyo 6 series

I read the reviews by others and also the competing products in this price range
