One word kill is the first book in the impossible times trilogy. The time travel component is heady reading, yet well explained so even the most basic layperson shall comprehend the subject matter effectively.

"it seems he read a book on quantum physics and the multiple world hypothesis and then wrote time travel novel" "there are other issues, but honestly i just found the whole thing rather trite.
