Pros & Cons

The AI used to provide these results are constantly improving. These results might change.

Pros

Fairly rugged, and priced just right.

Locking teeth on the adjuster firmly hold the stand in 1 position. No slippage. Locks securely in place.

Cons

The fitting where it's suppose to screw into a stand is way too large. Poor design where the tubes are flattened at the ratchet hub. Price to return it isn't worth doing so.

Quality

Any finer adjustments i want to make to the mics angle or placement i can make with the boom arm

Its been very solid and its pretty easy to adjust the position with the toothed gears of this extension arm

The clamp that came with the stagg music stand would only fit around a regular microphone pole

With the knob being a teeth engaging type it wont budge after its set

Price

I gave it 4 stars for form function and cost

Packaging/appearance

Even the packaging on this item isnt 15 x 3 x 5 it arrives attached to a card thats vaguely that size give or take a few inches

Was trying to get away from the tripod and boom type mic stand

Competitiveness

For the price this is a fivestar product

I got this to use with an atlas ms25 weighted boom stand and an sm7b microphone

Comgpproductb001gwcc4irefcmcrrypprdttlsol10 for my sony video cam when desktop recording

I can see how balance would be an issue with a heavier mic but i used with a shure sm58 with no problems

Only the fine print near the bottom of the page indicates the actual size

Holy crap is the arm on this thing long

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

However i wish the arm on this thing was a few inches shorter or that a version of it that only extended two or three inches was available because i had to move my mic stand in a very awkward position to accommodate this thing

So i had this crazy idea that i could build a portable isolation microphone station with a music stand attached

The clamp that came with the stagg music stand would only fit around a regular microphone pole

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

The threading on the boom arm when i connected it to the clamp ended with the boom arm about 45 degrees off of the direction i needed it to be in for the music stand to correctly oriented
