The drag system on this is a washer pinch bearing system the drag is adjusted by a screw that basically pinches a washer down onto a washer to tighten or loosen the drag on the reel

Other downside is if you are letting a fish run and want little to no drag on the reel and you unscrew the cap you risk two things getting the drag system dirty because dirty and water can slip past the threads and the screw cap falling off because if you loosen to no drag 1 or 2 threads may be all thats holding the cap on

Do note that there is clicking on the retrieve and no way to adjust it either

It lets line out very cleanly and after a couple dozen casts you quickly get a feel for what the reel is wanting to do and how to dial it in for you much line youre trying to send out
