These are about the right size for a light spinning rod for trout or pan fish
I always look inside a new real body to make sure there is grease on the gears and then i oil the spool shaft and check that the spool drag clicker has lube
Winds the line on very evenly compared with other reels i have tried i found this one easy to get used to lightweight stylish and so far i have not had a problem with it
