Pros & Cons
Pros
This quick release plate is easy to attach to the bottom of your camera. It has a double action quick release safety lever. It works well with that setup, and allows me to easily put on and take off the camera from the pilotfly. The photos show my set... Read More
Highlights
Quality
The quick release system works great and the quality feels solid
Has everything one would want including 4 way leveling very good product
That was a dealbreaker for me so i took a chance with the oben qra r2
Focus and aperture rings would usually lay flush with the mounting plate making it difficult or impossible to turn them or use ... Read More
Packaging/appearance
As opposed to the 1 lb it has a flat surface that fits nicely on the head assembly of the glidecam
The solution was this mount which has a threaded base so it screws into the balancing plate
This means that if you shoot something off the glidecam you have to take apart the balancing plate rebalance every time
Competitiveness
Not as strong as a manfrotto but strong enough that i dont feel like it is going to break
I use a canon 60d so the weight is something i want to keep to a minimum
Went with four of another smaller lighter brand for my sonys gimbal monopod etc

This solution was cheaper then the manfrotto 323rc2 and not built as solidly however it lies flat which the manfrotto 323rc2 does not due to a petrusion at the bottom of the design

The glidecam has a screw on the top balancing plate that screws into the bottom of any dslr or small camcorder but you have to take apart the entire balancing plate in order to attachdetach the camera

Just pop the camera on and off as you would with any other quick release

Quite a useful addition to a monopod since screwing the monopod directly onto a camera is cumbersome
