Pros & Cons
Pros
It's very well packaged and the monopod seems very sturdy. Sturdy and uncomplicated.
Oben vh-r2 monopod comes with an allen wrench key and a clip to attach to the monopod. The aluminum sections are thick, even the end section, but not too thick that you can't get a good grip.
The oben acm-2400 mono-pod is a very good product. It is heavy but i don't mind that. It easily can be used to ward off bobcats in the field!
Highlights
Quality
The extra lenght is very useful given that im over 6 ft and want as much versatility with the product as possible
The build quality is excellent and very heavy duty
Mine was apparently not assembled correctly as the tip of the mount for the camera was flush with the top of the camera mount
As far as hight i am 5 10 with the pod fully extended the viewfinder is over my head
Packaging/appearance
The tubes are wide and the lock levers needed no adjustment out of the box
Competitiveness
A oben ball head was used and it is very handy to carry around with a d600
I have used many other monopods and tripods and this one is one of the best ive ever used
I do friday night lights with a d7100 and 300mm prime lens pretty darn heavy
I have looked at several monopods with great skepticism because my rig is worth thousands
