Keys need to be programed by a dealership or locksmith. No problem installing and works good in my 2003 gmc sierra 2500hd.

Make sure you disconnect the battery because it will come out when you go into on position

I was lucky and it was not too difficult to remove with a tiny screwdriver poked into the release hole on top of the lock mechanism

The cover over the column simply snaps on same for the tilt release button it simply shoves into place

Likewise to remove the tilt button on my 2002 silverado 2500hd 4x4 tilt column you just pull firmly on the lever and it pops right out
