Ultimately we filter all water down to 1um before discharge thats smaller than a red blood cell which is 5 microns

After 12 dozen or so uses the filter clogs resulting in an unacceptably slow filtration rate

There are plenty of aquariumspecific bags but they are all in my experience a few inches wide at most and no where near as wide as these bags 16 x 7

I cut off the firm ring at the top of each bag and use an electrical tie to close the bag after putting in the media

I dont see much difference between them since the activated charcoal fines appear to be much smaller than 200 microns washing away under the water stream from the sink faucet and the retained chips are much larger than 600 microns
