This works excellently. It meets all of my expectations so far. The rugged case seems like it will help in that department. Still a good drive, but the enclosure is easily damaged in shipping.

There is no issues with overheating, disconnecting from the mac during sleep, and all backups run quickly. Strong electromagnetic presence near the fan.

Cons

Throughput is less than exemplary with about 40 to 50 mbs on usb 3. Does not work on any of my nativetb motherboards or the asus or msi add on cards. Stick with western digital or seagate.

It is a solid drive but the real point i want to make here is that i did start to have issues with the drive on december 27th 2021

I also use it to make a complete image of my computer in case something goes south and that too is very fast
