E4000 tuner is significantly better than the r820t2 tuner in lesser radios. This runs cooler and the resultant sound quality is generally more crisp.

Easy to work with it it adapts to most sdr software easily
There is unmet potential however brought out by a poor choice in printed circuit boards
I turn off agc on any sdr software i use as it always cranks the gain much higher than needed

Saved me 700 for a decent scanner
