I used mine on a runner in my hallway that was on a berber carpet and although it somewhat stopped the sliding of my rug it did not hold it in place and i still had bunching in the middle of the rug

I placed these under the rug that gave us the most trouble and so far since the teeth run deep into the underlying carpet it has not gathered at all
