The board along with each plastic plate 12au7 tube and 24v power supply were individually enclosed in bubble wrap

Each of the black plastic plates had protective film on them although the bottom plate had some decent sized scratches and gouges

If you power it on without headphones attached the red led light still blinks but the unit warms up much faster

When you plug in your headphones to the front mounted jack the rear rca preamp output is shut off as expected

The weak spot as others have mentioned is the cheaply made 24vdc power supply that comes with it
