Pros & Cons
Pros
The yakima buckles are great for tying down your kayak. The buckle can be located precisely to out of the way locations.
These things are awesome! Follow the provided instructions. This one works exceptionally welll!
They’re strong, sturdy, and convenient. Replaced bargain priced ones from hf -- these are professional quality.
I use a weller soldering gun with the cheap weller rope cutting insert tool. One of my favorite uses is strapping gas cans in the back of my pickup. I loop it through the two tiedown loops on each side and cinch it down.
Cons
Feeding the strap through the locking mechanism is odd and it doesn't hold. You have to thread the webbing carefully through the cam buckle through narrow slots.

If your familiar with cam buckles then maybe you’ve been frustrated at the fact that you are always have to find a way to cinchtighten the straps because to tighten a strap with a normal cam buckle the strap has to be pulled opposite of you leverage
