Other cheap unlicensed chargers copies will not charge your nintendo 3ds consoles as the official licensed ones dont do the same mistake and invest in the licensed charge like this one

Strange that nintendo makes you buy a power pack separate from the unit though when it requires one to be able to charge the battery
