Highlights
Quality
Increased stability with the d500 and 300mm f4 is key
That said i still prefer this over any of the less expensive vertical grips for the d500
I first noticed this with the d850 but i believe it’s equally true about the d500
Her eis a reason you buy oem grips thos works with the 2k camera and works flawlessly
Price
Great grip only downside is the price
I got this bundled for free with a d500 body so the price was right for me
Well made and while price is high if you shoot in portrait use of afon and toggle buttons are great
Packaging/appearance
There is a lot of programming that goes into the nikons as well that the third party grips just can’t possibly match
I can hear and feel the af system working slightly faster with the enel18c battery powering the d500
Competitiveness
A little expensive compared to the other brands out there
Works beautifully with my new nikon d500
Admittedly i havent used an offmarket grip so i cant comment on how this differs from a muchcheaper option
Overpriced like all nikons battery grips but it works great

I dont shoot weddings so i had no need for the extra battery on hand but the ergonomics of shooting portrait orientation with a grip are worth the extra weight and size alone but maybe not worth the price for you
