Pros

Ken follett is a great story teller. Ken never disappoints his readers. At sixes and sevens at sea, and conflicts, accompanied by cascading surprises.

Set during the declaration of wwii, this is sort of soap opera meets mystery/thriller. A delightful period piece aboard a panam clipper. Just take a photo of the whole plane, then enlarge with your fingers as needed.

One of my fave authors. Mixing cultures and personalities are trades of his craft. Very well written prose.

Gripping and very sensual. Lots of suspense and constantly shifting descriptions of people.

Cons

Follett needs some time off to rejuvenate his literary mojo. How is it possible that this esteemed author could write such hogwash?
