I dont have to worry about the phone screen touching a flat surface if the phone is face down due to the buffer that the case provides around the edge of the screen

The most noticeable differences are no hard plastic protection on the top or the bottom of the case and that there are no port covers

As far as protection the missing hard plastic on the top and bottom is not a big deal as the silicone part of the case is generally enough protection for these parts of the phone
