The calculator has a rechargeable battery, but also charges via solar. It comes with a usb-c charger but you can also charge it by light/sun. On the underside, there's also a slot for charging the device if the solar charging isn't enough.

The unit seems solid enough but i'm not sure how much the hinge will stay intact when supporting and writing over a period of time. The brightness on writing portion isn't intense, but it's fine.

Overall it does what it advertises and the price is reasonable. Sleek design and solid construction. I also like this calculator because it is sturdy and durable.
