- the remote control doesn't seem to sync with the unit temperature if you change the temp manually.

Packaging/appearance

While im sleeping, i turn the central ac up to 78 in the house and set the time to run the newair for 6 - 7 hours while i sleep.

Competitiveness

Reiterating, though, that it is a dehumidifying a/c, so the air will be dry in your room if the compressor has been running.

Neutral Review

This is probably what most people end up ignoring, resulting in damage to their brand-new unit!

So, after my mother had one of these units for quite some time, i decided to get one for my own bedroom because it is a room that gets unbelievably warm in the summer, even if the home's a/c is working.

The window unit is pretty good, despite it feeling flimsy at first touch.

Automatic causes it to just kind of default to 75 for some reason, so switching it to manual a/c allowed my unit to actually cool down to the temperature i set it to and then switched to fan mode until the temperature went up again.

Noise-wise, the fan makes as much noise as a low-setting house fan which is negligible, however it does make a loud sound when switching on the compressor which is also a fair bit loud.

It did make recording obnoxious because the sound carried enough to be picked up even on low gain settings on the opposite side of the room, so if you plan to use this a/c in a room where recording takes place, then i hope you like getting up close and personal with your mic otherwise it's going to pick it up like mad.

This thing does pull in humidity from the air to cool, but i never did have to drain it once in all the time using it so don't even ask me where to drain it (it has a sensor light to tell you it needs draining but not once did it come on).

This isn't a design flaw: it's a part of the unit being portable.
