After figuring out the drill to install, works great. I have piece of mind knowing that my dishes and glassware will not come crashing down. I like the concept and believe it could work as advertised in the case of an earthquake.

The earthquake consultant we hired to look over house recommended these but he said to wait for the new version as they did not need to be screwed in place

The tape on this newer model is just to hold the latches in place during installation

But looking at the surface area available i decided to take a page from his mistake and use foam picture tape to install these so i did not use the screws

I did remove the thin installation tape before putting on the picture tape

I did try to see if these might trip during normal use so i tried quite a few abnormal slams

Nothing happened so it appears these will truly be invisible latches from a functional standpoint

They do though sometimes fall and latch if a cabinet is slammed
