I think these vampires if written in a different genre could have been quite terrifying but still serves their purpose

Mainly this is due to the fact that the story feels forced in the direction that it takes for the exclusive purpose of introducing what is clearly a false love interest in a love triangle as well as introducing the wolfpack

You do not get much about their personalities outside of being possessive protective and fawning over each others flawless beauty

Here in the second book though this obsession is only shown to be onesided as the character is shown to be pretty much depressed mentally unstable and uses friendship to get her fix through illusions that are brought upon by doing stupid and dangerous stuff
