Pros
The smallest bernina reel cap fits perfectly in exactly the same way it fits an aurifil reel. They are cross-wound so should be placed on your horizontal thread post, or used on a thread stand. I got them & they are fantastic.
The bernina 570qe can switch between sewing and embroidery. I have had no trouble with thread breakage. Would defiantly recommend.
Cons
Reels have a small notch in them which catches the thread, holds it tight and causes the thread to snap. The cotton breaks every 5 seconds in the sewing machine. Images show faulty sewing, faulty split threads. Would be alright for hand embroidery but... Read More

Unless you already have a thread storage system buy the ones with the boxes as that saves a lot of time and messy escapist threads

The reason why i have given these threads 3 stars is because you don’t get the frame as shown in the picture which they are on once i have tried the cotton out the score may change well after trying the thread i found it to be easy to use and of excellent quality and very good value for money

Compared with aurifil cones these are small and only have 500metres of thread instead of 1000 metres w aurifil

However buying 40 colours in their own stackable boxes works out at less than £1

However there is nowhere on the reel to fix the thread end unlike aurifil which have a collapsible base

I’ve temporarily solved this problem with rubber bands but the thread still comes unravelled after a while
