There is a “cap” covering the sensor that needs to be removed so that the sensor can be inserted in the ear

If you want to use it by yourself you will have to push the read button thwn when it beeps push the memory button because the temp is not displayed for very long at firat i didnt think it was reading but turns out i just wasnt fast enough
