The hook part has to be screwed into the base when you receive them and one of the five it seemed to be stripped as the hook just kept spinning

What the tabs were for was to stick on the back of the magnet

You peel off the sticky side and stick it to the magnet base and then you peel off the 2nd side of the tab to expose the nonsip surface
