Pros & Cons

Pros

Used these bits to remove a broken exhaust manifold stud in a ford 4. Used them to drill out a broken lug bolt. Easily remove stripped philips and flathead screws.

Worth every penny. Would highly recommend. Great as a gag gift or practical joke for the noob at your shop.

The metal is fairly soft and it doesn't take much to chowder up the cutting lips. Used plenty of oil and stayed at low rpm drill speed. Used drill oil too keep bits from dulling.

Cons

The flutes aren't deep enough to clear chips, the relief angles are inconsistent and the split point goes past the centerline on most. They just shatter even as super slow speeds (always drill metal at slow speeds). These are not drill bits.

Tried two drills to try and remove a snapped off bolt. Trying to drill out the bolt securing a ejection * to the bottom of a lawn mower.

Price

In my opinion the price was right at least robe its held up to old rusty broken bolts without issue

Packaging/appearance

They worked perfectly and efficiently drilled holes into the steel screws to permit me to insert and use some spiral flute extractors

Was not in the metal box it came in

Pick the bit sized for the surface of the head of the boltscrew

Competitiveness

Bought the 13 piece set for nearly 12 the price

A bolt extractor socket failed and snapped the bolt more so my last chance was to drill it out

One thing is that the drill chipped up the bits a bit and they didn’t fit in the case

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I simply cut the outer edge of the holes of the case with some wire cutters dykes and the bits fit in

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Probably more a problem with my drill and the way i was drilling so i didn’t take any stars off

If youve ever broken off a bolt below the surface you know what your choices are try to tap it out with a punch drill it out use a bolt extractor weld a nut onto it etc

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Since most bolts are righthand thread drilling with a lefthand bit does two things at once it weakens the bolt which reduces the pressure on the outside holding it in place and it provides a twisting force in the direction that unscrews the bolt

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

If not you either keep drilling or you use a screw extractor in the hole you just created

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Since i only drag them out when i break a bolt they dont get a lot of use and thus last a long time
