No software out there yet matches the potential usefulness of neat's. The software aspect of the system works great. There is a dedicated filing cabinet that is easy to navigate.

As a head of the house, i get tons of receipts and it gets absolutely maddening trying to keep them all organized.

The scanner is a little slow but that's also because each scan is processed for ocr. Although the ocr doesn't pick up everything all the time, it picks up most of it and changing/editing items is a no-brainer.

System scans your receipts and creates one of three contact, document or a receipt. There is a capability to produce searchable standalone ocr/image pdfs independent or file within the neat office ecosystem.

Neat works scanner is very slow and difficult to use. Comes out twisted and the resulting scan is distorted. You can't do anything with the scanned files after you've scanned them.

Neat just needs to go back to the drawing board and redesign, again. This makes most receipts unreadable. If you go to neat's support website you get weak apologies and no clear answer on what they are doing about this unbelievable oversight.

Perhaps the desktop model is better. Perhaps newer models are of better quality. It has major flaws. A complete productivity drain.
