Pros
The mxl 990 is a large diaphragm condenser mic that requires 48v phantom power. This is a great sounding mic, especially for the price. If you use a pop shield, this is one of the best vocal mics at any price.
Good beginner microphone. Quality of construction is first class and the supplied storage box is great.
This mic also comes with a shock mount, essential if you intend to use this on a desk.
The sensitivity is crazy and the frequency response is nice to work with when carving the sound in a daw. Stereo means that you can apply plenty of dynamic range compression before the noise floor becomes a problem.
Recording acoustic guitar is so rewarding. It delivers perfect quality for any amateur or professional musician. It's somewhat overqualified for the job, but it gets it done beautifully.

Although this product is great i was disappointed to see that the packaging had already been opened previously and the internal sealed bags had already been ripped open suggesting to me that it was a return and not a completely new product

I know it isnt rocket science but it would have saved me time and the possibility i may have connected something wrongly and damaged it
