So i will confidently say this product should last awhile if cared for but no longer then a cheap piece of plastic can be expected to last in the first place

The new button does work it seems that they come apart when you need to replace the battery

When you try to twist out the top of the ignitor button the soft rubber part of the button assembly will tear off of the hard plastic sleeve
