Pros
Took one try. No dice. Pretty yucky. My dad clues me in on more medical procedures and situations than i care to hear.
It's a million times better and safer than q-tips. Firstly, it requires time and patience.
Cons
Murine ear numbing drops are not recommended for children. They can rupture the eardrum and rend the hearing.
The carbamide peroxide solution barely does anything to the earwax except maybe loosen it up a bit. The 'fizzing' sound you hear is just the release of a bit of carbon dioxide - not enough to break up a sticky, deeply-lodged, large amount of wax.

A little over a year ago i had the same issue and went to the doctor and they irrigated my ear and it worked

I put the ear wax drops in my ear and left them in for about an hour just lay down and watch a show

I then flushed my ear probably 20 or so times with warm water but my hearing was then completely blocked

I waited about 15 minutes this time and could actually hear a lot of cracklingbubbling in my ear that i couldnt hear the first time

I flushed out my ear again and finally saw it starting to come out only after about 5 or so tries and a big clump came out

I also allowed it to sit in my ear for at least 1015 minutes before thoroughly flushing my ear out with warm water several times
