The muhle r41 razor is one of the most aggressive de razors on the market. The r41 has a feather blade, which is great for tough beards. The best part of the r41 is that there is no pressure to shave.

The razor is flawless, you just need to do your part and not flay yourself. Imho, this razor is a joy to behold, and to use.
It becomes a very zen calming ritual that revives you. Just a reminder, go easy.

I shaved with the merkur for 10 years i use mostly astra blades

Had originally ordered the r89 to replace the edwin jagger de89lbl which did not shave closely

With a muhle razor blade i get a super smooth shave
Doesnt get gummed up if you use preshave balm
Nothing wakes me up like a r41 shave in the morning

It wasnt quite as much of a sweetheart as the famously beginnerfriendly edwin jagger my old favorite but it didnt feel much more dangerous than a parker semislant

If i maintain a 30 degree angle and no pressure i could go over the same place 8 times and not remove all the hair
