For rg8x lmr240 using amphenol type uhf pl259 crimp plugs such as 182115 you need 3 cuts the first for the jacket about 31mm from end the second for the shield about 22mm from the end and the third at the center insulation about 14mm from the end leaving bare center conductor about 13

After stripping the cable if you tin the end of the stranded core with a touch of solder before installing the crimp connector itll keep it from coming undone during connector install but go easy on the solder otherwise the core wont fit through the connector

These are crimp connectors where you crimp the outer barrel into the shield and solder the center conductor into the pin
