So for those of youespecially ladies who are more of a newbie than me and i am the newest of newbies in the arena of car stereo installations here is what i learned 1 the instructions talk about spacer nubs that may need to be removed of course it applied to us and the drawing identifying the spacer nubs was so confusing that i ended up contacting support because if i removed the wrong thing i may have damaged the kit beyond repair

Turns out i needed the brackets but you could not attach the arms to the face plate until you removed the spacer nubs
