I purchased this viewer even with the negative reviews about speed lack of full picture zoom and poor screen brightness

The speed with which the viewer moved from one 8 mb photo to the next is less than 12 second ok i am guessing here i did not time it the transfer from the camera sd card that is inserted into the external sd slot of the viewer to the internal sd card is well within what i would expect of any sd2sd transfer

Screen brightness must be in the eye of the beholder because when set at level 4 it seems quite usable to me
