Although the technical specifications say it is 57mm it is 58mm which it has engraved on the top next to the brand name

I recently purchased the rancilio silvia which comes supplied with a plastic tamper which is enough to get you started but it really is awful and has to be replaced asap

Nicely engraved with the motta logo on the base which adds a touch of class to it rather than a plain metal base

The top can unscrew so you can wash the base if it gets too dirty but i find it doesnt need cleaning as it barely picks up any grounds
