It is waterproof. Works excellent for a phone charger on my yamaha bolt. Never had a short or overheating problem along the lines or the box. Mounted this to my 2014 harley davidson fat boy with no issues at all.
Cons
Usb charger has no indicator light or anything that should be drawing current if nothing is plugged into it. Hooked to bike with the battery tinder hooked to the bike for two hours and only charged phone 2%. Almost wasnt long enough to reach my batter... Read More

A smaller bike with a smaller battery would require you to disconnect it daily when bike is off

Otherwise give my st1300 two usb outlets i have it velcrod to the inside wall of the right compartment very useful for phone gps gopro etc

The one unexpected issue is that there is a small constant amperage draw so in my mind it is inappropriate to connect directly to the battery as intended

I hope the waterproof rating is accurate since bike will occasionally be operated in the rain
