Monteverde's scotch brown is a unique brown with a lot of shading. The bottle is a sturdy glass. Appreciation of the variety in black inks requires a much more discerning eye.

Monteverde inks contain lubricants, and it flowed flawlessly for me. The ink flows well through the pen very nice and only takes around eight seconds to fully dry coming out of my hongdian fine nib. It seems to make my stub nib much more silky.

I love this ink, and that says a lot, as i'm quite picky about my inks. Even with shipping the price can’t be beaten. It makes a statement.

Olivine is a gorgeous color, just like the gemstone it's named for. Looks almost identical to monteverde amethyst. Red is more like orangish red.

Inks at their best/truest. I'm obsessed with the pilot varsity, the throwaway pen. Now, ravens are my favorite bird, and i love watching them.

Unfortunately the bottle lets the water evaporate. The ink itself seems to be of a poor quality and constantly gunks up in the pen.
