The bottom of it is like a foil type deal attached picture and the top is almost like a fleece material so in the summer months it may be a little warm

The back of the blanket is a stiffer and more outdoor resistant type of material so that if you were putting this down on lightly wet grass it wouldnt soak through to the top of the blanket where youre likely sitting

I dont think its waterproof though just resistant so i wouldnt expect this to work in an extreme situation

Its a decent size to carry even folded but it does refold just the way it arrived as compact as possible not one of those impossible to make it look like it did to start kinds of products
