    I could hand compress the old ones and they would not even expand back out.

    The muffler and tail-pipe were in the way of getting access to the top nut of where the top of the shock attaches.

    When i first tried to put the lower part of the new shock in place, it was way too long and over-shot the metal sleeve (where you place the lower end of the shock.

    Jack the rear end up so that the wheels hang as far as they'll go, remove the old shocks starting with the top nut, then the bottom bolt.

    To get the bottom hole to line up with the shackle, place the second jack under the axle to raise up the shackle with the bolt hole on the shock.

    There is potential to lift the vehicle off of it's jack stands and this can be extremely dangerous.
