Every scratching post i bought for him would end up on its side because it was not sturdy enough for him.

This same model lasted 4 years with the same 2 cats, and the only reason it had to be replaced was the rope came undone after 4 years of the cats pulling on it.

The use of the post has helped to decrease scratching in other parts of my apartment, and they've gotten pretty good about using the post when i yell about scratching an inappropriate surface.

It's very sturdy, and can hold up to heavy use and the base is very heavy, so even if a cat comes running at top speed, they won't tip it over.
