The cam action in the handle moves the rod straight up and down

There was some black gasket that came with it which would not fit onto my toilet so i chucked it and it still works fine

I received the new one and upon initial installation thought it might not work or need alteredthe reason being the rubber bushing was much thicker

The shaft needed to be bent to match the lever in our gerber toilet but when i removed the original i found it was just a loose screw that was stopping the handle from working without being held in
