It literally rakes out the mats and the undercoat. My dog is a *, gsd, hound and lab mix. His fur tends to get matted on his back and this works great on the matting.

Cons

The blade is probably not sharpe enough. When i tried to use it to get a couple massage out of our schnauzers fur the blades were not sharp enough to cut them without hurting her. All it does is get stuck in his mats and does more harm than good.

The seller i purchased from is melodysusie direct. Says 0 refund. Didn't work in first place. Ended up returning.

The price really is great for how well it works.

It goes to prove that you don't need something fancy and super expensive to deal with a long coat pet.

Packaging/appearance

I have gotten at least 5x the fluff off than shown in the photo since i received it yesterday.

I got this and was a bit afraid, as it's pretty scary looking.

Competitiveness

I prefer the single-body style that i've had with similar brushes in the past, where the handle is all one piece and cannot come apart.
