Pros & Cons
Pros
This book is well researched and carefully presented. I loveeee how it reads almost like a story, instead of a text.
Krakauer still manages to evoke a lot of emotions. His insights are very pertinent to what we are seeing almost everyday in the news.
Missoula is krakauer's investigation into the handling of * cases at the university of montana. This happens everywhere, on every campus and its a tragedy.
Cons
He denounces missoula prosecutors for not pressing charges when there is scant evidence and reasonable doubt as to what happened. He really advocates for the university investigation/trial system, which is at best a kangaroo court, as preferable until... Read More

Krakauer allocates no responsibility to the victim for destroying all the evidence. Sabrina rubin erdely spun a fake tale to rolling stone without doing an iota of research.

I commend those brave women who came forward to report their sexual assault to police but then it makes me angry how the justice system handled the situations in which the victim was trying to prove she was telling the truth

In my mind i guess i knew these issues of assault particularly in college were a problem but i didnt realize just how much pressure there is on the victim to not press charges nor how much pressure the law enforcement and legal eagles put on the victims to not move forward with their cases
