Let me be clear this is not technically meant to be a whole home humidifier

One quirk is that it doesnt like fully distilled water since the water sensor cant sense water without at least a little mineral content

You can use distilled water they just suggest adding a cup or two of regular tap water which defeats the purpose so the sensor can work and turn the unit on

Also there is a review that says that you can get lighted versions of this you cannot

I spoke to the company that sells them and was told that there was a limited production run of them a few years ago but they are not manufactured any longer and you cannot buy them

Those poor customer service reps have apparently been bombarded with requests through amazon all because of that one picture

Admittedly it looks cool lit up in the dark but they arent for sale or even made any more
